1,411 tigers?
the Aircel ad says 1,411 tigers…
is it?
that’s quoting the 2008 census. we lost 86 tigers in 2009. nine till now in 2010, about 35 in 2008 and about the same number in 2007.
these of course are the recorded cases-ones that we know of..at a very conservative estimate..the real figures would be double that. we know that skin and bones seizures are a tip of the iceberg..for every skin seized so many others slip away..unnoticed.
surely..in the same number of years-the recruitment-or the number of cubs survived has not matched the tigers lost?
