over a story i did…
how do i feel about it?
i know what i wrote was right-its backed with facts, documents, data-spoke to all people concerned-and even the people i critiqued (not directly-it was never meant to be that-but how can one look the other way-when a park is dying of neglect, and misplaced priorites) called back to say that it was unbaised …
i can only hope that it will help..that it may serve some constructive purpose, though in one sense i have long lost the idealism that got me into this in the first place-that the pen will change the world-or atleast that it will help affect a change…too many years in the media have convinced me that the pen is easily bought..still, in many ways-i know that it does make a difference however small-when a question is raised in parliament, or your artcile helps fight a courtroom battle, or when a child has carefully made a scrapbook of your artciles, or when you get a call from bhubneswar because your column was missing-or the college kid who wants to help, anywhich way,..that’s when you feel it is all worth it..
but i meander—
i feel terrible-not because i lost my job, but because wildlife lost a voice-a platform…..
Martin Luther King once said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Go on, keep up the good work. You might have lost a battle, but there’s a war to be won…
I agree! Your experience just shows up for the umpteenth time the lethargic slobs who run our country and the gutless wonders who run our media. We need people like you.
thats the price we pay for being honest…never mind..your day will come and everybody will hear you loud and clear..not that they arent already
“Jo daar gaya, samjho maar gaya”.
Not only a dialog from a famous movie but also a sentence gives enough of courage to stand on our feet to win or raise voice.Do what your inner self says, for the cause of the dumbs whom you love and concerned. The whole world is watching and never ever feel lonely. We are dwelling in free India because of that one voice.Had he not raised his voice imagine where we wud have been.
Keep up the good work and continue.
